Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Calend ("Calend," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Calend mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the App.
1. Who We Are
Calend is a productivity application that helps you plan tasks, build daily timelines, and optionally block distracting apps during focus sessions. The App is operated by the team behind Calend.
Contact: support@calend.ca
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to operate the App. Information falls into the categories below.
2.1 Account Information
When you sign up or sign in, we collect:
- Email address
- Authentication identifiers from sign-in providers you choose (Apple, Google)
- Display name (if you set one)
- Encrypted password (when you use email/password sign-in; passwords are hashed and never stored in plaintext)
2.2 Content You Create
- Tasks, events, schedules, timelines, notes, and block-group configurations you create in the App
- Prompts, voice transcripts, selected photos/videos, and other inputs you submit to the "Build with AI" feature
- Staged AI changes, including draft tasks, events, schedule updates, and edits generated by Build with AI before you confirm them
2.3 Device and Usage Data
- App version, iOS version, device model
- Crash logs and diagnostic information
- Feature usage events (for example: which screens you open, which actions succeed or fail)
- IP address (used transiently for rate-limiting AI requests; see Section 5)
- Timezone and current time when needed to schedule tasks/events or process Build with AI requests
- StoreKit transaction data and purchase history used to verify Calend Pro entitlement
2.4 Screen Time and App Blocking Data
The App uses Apple's FamilyControls and Screen Time frameworks to let you block selected apps during focus sessions.
- Your selection of which apps to block is stored locally on your device using Apple's privacy-preserving tokens.
- We do not receive, see, or transmit the identities of the apps you choose to block.
- Selected Screen Time / FamilyControls app-blocking selections stay local on your device and are not synced to Supabase.
- Block group names, tasks, events, sync timestamps, and other App content may sync through Supabase when you use cloud sync.
- Apple manages this data through its on-device frameworks.
2.5 Notification Preferences
Your notification settings are stored locally on your device.
2.6 Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect precise location data.
- We do not collect contacts, calendars (from your system calendar), photos library content (beyond photos/videos you explicitly select), or microphone data beyond voice transcripts you submit to Build with AI.
- We do not sell your personal information.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide core App functionality (creating and syncing tasks, schedules, and timelines)
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure
- Process AI-generated schedules, tasks, and events from Build with AI inputs you submit
- Send local notifications about upcoming sessions
- Operate, maintain, debug, and improve the App
- Detect and prevent abuse (including rate-limiting AI requests)
- Verify Calend Pro entitlement using StoreKit transaction data and purchase history
- Communicate with you about support requests or material changes to the App
- Comply with legal obligations
4. AI Features
Calend offers a "Build with AI" feature that converts prompts, voice transcripts, selected photos/videos, and scheduling context into structured schedules, tasks, events, and proposed edits. Build with AI uses third-party AI.
- Google Gemini is Calend's third-party AI provider for Build with AI.
- After you give in-app consent, Calend sends Build with AI data to Calend's backend and Google Gemini for processing.
- Build with AI data may include prompts, voice transcripts, selected photos/videos, relevant existing tasks/events, scheduling context, timezone/current time, and staged AI changes.
- Photos/videos selected for Build with AI are processed for AI parsing.
- This data is sent only after you give in-app consent.
- You can withdraw consent in Settings. After withdrawal, Calend will ask again before sending Build with AI data to Calend's backend or Google Gemini.
- If you do not consent, Build with AI will not send data to Google Gemini.
- AI outputs may be inaccurate. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before relying on it.
For details on how Google handles Gemini API data, see Google's privacy documentation at policies.google.com and the applicable Google Gemini API/data-processing terms.
5. Third-Party Service Providers (Subprocessors)
We share limited information with the following service providers solely to operate the App:

These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and contractual obligations to protect your data. We do not authorize them to use your information for their own marketing purposes.
We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Calend, our users, or others.
6. Data Storage, Security, and Location
- Account data and App content you sync are stored on Supabase's cloud infrastructure.
- Selected Screen Time / FamilyControls app-blocking selections stay local on device and are not synced to Supabase.
- StoreKit transaction data and purchase history may be sent to Calend's backend/Supabase to verify Calend Pro entitlement.
- We use industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and authentication.
- No system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
Servers operated by our providers may be located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to such jurisdictions.
7. Data Retention
- We retain your content and account information for as long as your account is active.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (such as the right to access, correct, port, restrict processing of, or object to processing of your personal information). To exercise any such rights, email support@calend.ca.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
